Tips for Planning A Successful Party
The biggest mistake when planning a bachelor party is assuming it takes no
planning at all. It’s more than just calling up all your friends and sitting around deciding what to do next. You actually have to plan it.
• Never have the party the night before the wedding
• If you are worried about costs, try to set the date on a Sun-Thurs. You will find you will get more for less money.
• Determine how many people will be coming
• Decide what type of party you want to throw (PG or X rated)
• Call around for pricing info and gather the money
• Don’t wait till the last minute
• Keep receipts from all expenses
• Confirm all reservations
• Call all guests to remind them and confirm if they are still attending
• Arrive early at the party destination

Cigar Information
1. Choosing a Cigar
• Judge a cigar by its wrapper. Don’t buy a cigar if the wrapper is damaged or imperfect. If the wrapper is too tight it can be difficult to draw smoke into it and if it is too loose you will lose some of the flavor. The wrapper should also be consistent in color and have a nice scent.
• A more expensive cigar will be hand wrapped so that the fillers are run throughout the entire length of the cigar giving it more flavor. Less expensive cigars will most likely be machine wrapped and include more scraps of leaf.
• Sweeter cigars are darker in color because they contain more sugar and oil as a result of being on the plant longer before picking.
2. Cutting and Lighting a Cigar
• Use the guillitine style cutter. It is the best way to keep the cigar from overheating resulting in an unpleasant flavor
• Always cut at the closed end. The trick is to cut off enough of the cap without taking the whole thing off, thus keeping the cigar from unraveling.
• Use a butane lighter or match. A gasoline lighter may alter the flavor.
• Make sure you light the end evenly by rotating the cigar.
• While still holding the flame to the cigar, place it up to your lips and draw in slowly, then remove and blow on the end to ensure it is evenly lit.
• A cigar is meant to be smoked slowly and unlike a cigarette, you don’t tap off the ash that builds up on the end of the cigar. |
